My first book Littana – Kielletyn lapsen tarina (”Flatty – the story of a forbidden child”) has been published in Finnish 2023 by Teos Kustantamo.
At the moment I am writing Kengänkiillottajat (”Bootbacks”), the first book of a trilogy narrating life histories of people living between 1930 -2000 in a rapidly changing, sometimes violent society in Finland.
The second book will be about women trying to cope in a society that mostly values the housewife role for a woman.
Third book will be about younger generation battling in a pressured city work life, even in international circles, having lots of opportunities and stress, which also makes life overwhelming.
Why now?
Of course I’ve been writing all my life, it is the usual story of a book-loving girl who learned to read as a three-year-old, loved to write all kinds of pieces, then ended up in a writing profession as an adult, too – at first as a copywriter in ad agencies, then as a semiotician and a marketing researcher in her own little company.
Now being in the age that that career is done, it is time to take up my favourite pastime: reading and writing.

The first book that’s being published, is Littana, ”Flatty – the story of a forbidden child”. It is an exciting story of real Jenni Chen-Ye, a girl who was born as a forbidden child in China in 1989.
When she was 5 years old, the family moved to Finland as immigrant workers. Jenni became a child interpretant and a child laborer in her parents’ restaurant.
Sadly she was also a victim of school bullying, which made her a very lonely child, too.
However she got through these troubles and became a successful restaurant entrepreneur, when she grew up.
This is a fine hero’s journey, that will let the reader laugh and cry.

What else?
I’m also working on a lifelong dream of a book that will combine psychological life cycle theories and the hero’s journey myth into an entertaining book of life – wish me luck, that some publisher would accept it to their publisher program!
In the meanwhile, I might write something else, too, there are ideas wandering in my head – let’s see where the pen will take me.
